Craig Crotteau represents clients before Congress, applying more than 20 years of experience to his practice in defense, environmental and natural resource issues. Mr. Crotteau provides insight and access to federal agencies, helping clients develop and implement strategic marketing initiatives. Craig focuses on Department of Defense legislation and programs, and also has significant experience with the Department of Energy and the Environmental Protection Agency. He assists public ports and private developers with infrastructure, land use and real estate matters. Mr. Crotteau’s litigation practice focuses on construction law and government contracts, including contract formation and the resolution of claims and disputes with federal agencies.

Prior to joining Ball Janik in 2005, for six years Mr. Crotteau led the DC office of a Fortune 1000 engineering firm. He played a key role as the corporation's Washington advocate, as the firm doubled its revenue to over $1.3 billion. Mr. Crotteau's professional engineer license in Virginia supported that effort.
A career military officer, Mr. Crotteau led combat engineer units in Europe and crafted Army budgets in the Pentagon. He practiced as a trial attorney with the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers in Washington, DC and Germany, specializing in architect-engineer and construction litigation. As a lieutenant colonel, he managed hazardous waste remediation at hundreds of DOD, BRAC and EPA Superfund sites nationwide. In addition to his legal, military and lobbying expertise, Mr. Crotteau is a licensed professional engineer, giving him special insight into complex public infrastructure and environmental projects.
Mr. Crotteau is a former Army Appointed National Director for the Society of American Military Engineers (SAME). He is active in the Army Engineer Association. He serves as a trustee and former Executive Committee Member of the Board of Trustees for the University of Findlay.
