Mark Rosencrantz joined Ball Janik LLP in 2011 as Of Counsel in the firm’s Seattle office. He is a business trial lawyer and litigator who represents parties in a wide array of commercial disputes from minor issues to “bet the company cases.”

Mr. Rosencrantz’s practice emphasizes matters involving breaches of contract, embezzlement, intellectual property and trade secrets misappropriation, violations of non-compete agreements, business divorces, bankruptcy, unfair trade practices, and partnership and corporate disputes. He has obtained multiple multi-million dollar recoveries for his clients and helped other clients extricate themselves from potential judgments of the same size. Mr. Rosencrantz has done so before state and federal courts in Washington, Oregon, Nevada, Arizona, Idaho, Hawaii, Illinois and New York.

In construction matters, Mr. Rosencrantz has represented all levels of contractors, as well as owners, in a wide variety of cases involving construction defects, delay and impact claims, and copyright infringement of building plans. He has worked on cases involving projects ranging from commercial buildings to condominium projects. He has obtained both large monetary awards and injunctive relief on behalf of his clients.

Mr. Rosencrantz is a member of the American Bar Association Section of Antitrust Law and serves as an arbitrator in the King County Superior Court Mandatory Arbitration Program. He has written and lectured on a wide variety of legal and business issues. Mr. Rosencrantz was named a “Rising Star” by Washington Law & Politics Magazine each year from 2004 to 2009.

Prior to joining Ball Janik, Mr. Rosencrantz was a partner in litigation and construction law with the Seattle firm of Ashbaugh Beal, where he practiced from 2000 to 2011. From 1996 to 2000, he was an associate with Jolley Urga Wirth Woodbury & Standish in Las Vegas, Nevada. Mr. Rosencrantz is a frequent speaker on litigation and construction matters.

Mr. Rosencrantz is currently the president of the board of Northwest Behavioral Associates, which provides behavioral therapy and specialized education for children with autism and pervasive developmental disorders.
